TRU By Hilton Review - Gilbert Arizona
If you’ve been following along with my journey for the past few months, then you know I am smack dab in the middle of planning a major move from Atlanta, Georgia all the way to Scottsdale, Arizona. My husband has taken a different position at his company which requires us to relocate, that said, I’ve been hustling and trying to find us a new home all while packing up and preparing to move our life back in Atlanta!
The first thing we had to tackle was figuring out what part of Arizona we even wanted to live. There were so many options, but I won’t bore you with the details (LOL).. we chose North Scottsdale. During the time we were deciding this, I came to Arizona to visit Chauncey who has already officially relocated there and had to stay in a hotel for TWO weeks! When choosing which hotel we were going to “set up shop” at so to speak. I was looking for something that was going to be clean, newer, fun & trendy, and super accommodating. After careful thought, we decided on Tru Hilton in Gilbert Arizona.
So diving into what’s most important to me … the actual room. Let me just give you a little background. on myself and traveling. When I stay in any hotel. I’m so wierd about GERMS!! Walking around with no socks/shoes doesn’t happen, taking a shower without wearing flip flops, NOPE! Using the remote control for the TV.. not a chance! So it’s important that if I’m going to survive for the room to be in pristine condition. TRU did NOT disappoint. The room was absolutely clean and everything was in order. I mean, obvi I still wore my flip flops!
The next thing I absolutely loved were the amenities! So, if you didn’t know…. I actually work from home for my 9 to 5 job. So just because i’m on the road..the show still must go on. Meaning.. I still have to find someplace where I can be productive and get my work done! The lobby provided everything I needed for a nice relaxing environment. I could either work in a small cubicle area to prevent distraction, or out in the open at one of the lovely tables as well as enjoy a cup of coffee. All around they had the snacks and space that made for a productive work day!
After I finished my work day, I was able to still explore the lobby and take advantage of a friendly game of pool, or even relaxing in the oversized plush nook filled with pillows and areas where you can easily relax. The lobby was the perfect balance of work and play!
BUT wait.. there’s more! The fun did not stop with the amenities in the lobby. TRU had a cute pool with great lounge chairs and plenty of seats so you could relax and soak up the sun! They even provided towels and another section of covered seating! This area really came through for me after work when it was time to wind down and have a few cocktails!
So what do I think of TRU - Gilbert after 14 days of calling this place my home?? I absolutely loved it! For an affordable, clean, low key hotel that offers excellent service with pristine rooms..I would absolutely come back for another stay.
